A few months ago I would have rated this a five. Not sure what happened but as soon as I changed the push notification and camera sensitivity I dont get notifications now. I was getting bombarded with notifications so I changed the setting and now nothing.

I just set up my camera and downloaded the app. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. I open the camera and it says login timed out. Cant get the camera to come up just the spinning circle. Have to force close numerous times and then boom it works. Close the app and open it and it has timed out again. Really need to fix this.

You will NEVER get your Amcrest security camera to work using this app. Sooooo many bugs. customer support is non existent.

Before the update you could set the default stream rate (main or extra). The update took that away. Now the only default steam is extra which looks terrible. There is a button to jump to the main stream, but you have to do it for each channel separate. 8 channels takes a long time. Please fix the default back to a selection or change the button to switch the stream to include ALL channels.

The app doesnt have sufficient context clues or explanation to be able to figure out how to get it to record video when it detects motion. I suspect that the company has been buying fake reviews for its products and services, because this has been a terrible experience for a very highly reviewed product.

You bought this as a wifi camera? Ha - never works on wifi ever. But, if you are OK with paying the premium for this camera that works as a wired camera, then this is the camera for you. Works great when connected by physical wire. Also, the app defaults to showing a blank screen, so you have 4 clicks to see if the camera is working or not...

Motion detection and alerts dont function properly. To set up and use the camera you need two apps, an ipconfig tool, a desktop interface, and a web interface, plus the cloud interface. Absolutely ridiculous and totally unusable for an end-user. I am returning this camera.

This app is as poorly written as the related computer software. It is very frustrating to work with. You have to play around with it and try to figure it out.

Constant “Login timed out”. Tech support had me reinstall and change some settings that did nothing to resolve the issue. After reinstalling the app it worked for the first few times and then timed out again. The picture only takes up half the screen on my iPhone 6+. I don’t believe this is a hardware issue since I have none of these problems using my iMac. Unfortunately, I need this to primarily work on my iPhone and it just plain fails on every level; very dissatisfied. AMCREST: YOU NEED TO FIRE YOUR PROGRAMMER AND HIRE SOMEONE WHO CAN FIX THESE ISSUES ASAP!

The montuno detect is on point! I can view my camera anywhere and the controls work great. Just need to pick up a few more cameras :)

I get notification that there was movement by the camera, but when I try to open the live feed I cant. Sometimes it open right away, but most of the time I cant get the live feed to connect. Even at home when Im in the next room.

The app works fine for me, I dont know what other peoples issues were. They probably need to upgrade their network, mainly their router. We were having connectivity issues in our house and called the internet company out to take a look and they said it was our router. Bought a new top-tier router and no issues since. Also if you do you have a newer dual band router this camera only works on the 2.4 GHz not the 5G. So make sure youre trying to connect to the 2.4 GHz band. I purchased this camera to install in my childrens room. My wife wanted a baby gate so the one and a half year-old could safely go upstairs and play with his 4 1/2-year-old brother while she remained downstairs and did what she needed to do. I knew that even if the gate was there she would feel the compulsion to check on them incessantly. This $100 camera was the perfect solution. Not only can she keep an eye on them while she is downstairs she can also hear them and talk to them if necessary. Professionally packaged, sleek design, and works great. Great value for $100.

It will show you logging in time out each time you try to use it. Then you have to close the app and restart for it to be working again. Please fix the issue

I spend more time trying to connect my two cameras on this app than I do actually looking at the live stream. If its not timing out. Its not connecting. But it works fine from a desktop. These bozos need new engineers, and some people who understand functionality. This is a cluster eff of an app. Youd be better off with the mipc app and a Vimtag camera

Just setup my system this evening (4x720p amcrest). I had no problems connecting with this app, but I have a great wifi network at home. I even used this over a VPN connection (cisco anyconnect via ASA 5505) on Verizon LTE and was surprised it worked there too, although it did have a minor delay connecting at first. Im very happy with the user interface (pinch zoom, camera select, playback, etc.) and everything seems to work very well so far. I will return to update my review if anything changes.

Unsure how well Ethernet works but it took multiple attempts for an initial setup over wifi. I made the mistake of moving it and cannot get it to reconfigure even after a full reset. I now have a $120 paperweight! POS!

Login Timed Out is all you get when attempting to connect to a camera.

At first the app worked well and was very user friendly after playing around with functions a bit. Always have to throw current window in trash to reload from day one. Now having issues daily of no picture, log-in timed out, failed to connect. This is becoming very frustrating and there is no where to turn. Customer Service was no help as well. Please update app to address all these bugs. I use this system as a security for an apartment building and cannot have these units down most of the time. PLEASE HELP!!!

SO DISAPPOINTED IN THIS APP. IT NEVER CONNECTS TO MY TWO CAMERAS. AND IS ALWAYS TIMING OUT! SERIOUSLY AMCREST I WOULD GIVE YOU ZERO STARS IF I WAS ABLE TO DO SO.
