Awfully App

All I can say is...the creator of this app better be reading these reviews. My Foscam app worked better than this app ...this app is not user friendly. IM NOT HAPPY

Horrible user interface.

And camera disconnected from wifi,refused to reconnect without deleting the previous device. Not much use as a security camera in that case...

Please fix login timeout

Cons: "Login timeout" error when opening up the app, audio feedback echo, motion detection schedule gets deleted at random, creeps out my significant other. Pros: motion detection notifications work! Camera control works fine, picture quality is great, night vision is great, I can see what my dog is doing.

App stopped working after update

App opens but camera never connects. Was working before update. Computer still works but defeats the purpose of this camera if the phone app doesnt work. Please fix ASAP

Failed to connect

Product is horrible, keep getting "failed to connect" or "locked out" what good is it to have a camera if you cant access the feed. Sometimes it works for a day or two, and then youre back on the same boat. What a waste of time and money

Good free standing camera

I use this camera to keep an eye on my little dog during the day it works good in light or dark and is a fairly good picture .

Pretty clear picture and gets the job done. Its our nanny cam.

Wont log in

Terrible product. The app is fine but 70% of time I go to use the camera it gives me a login timed out error. Waste of money and the device is not user friendly. Keeps logging out. I cant even figure out how to use it without my husband and his technical background. I cant even google a fix for this error.

If you guys are the same as Foscam

Please add the support for the Foscam cameras in your app also.

Cant connect to cameras

I can no longer connect to my three 720p wireless bullet cameras using their IP addresses and this app. However, I can still login to them via the web browser on my Mac, so it must be this app. Im not too impressed by Amcrest products in general. Their cameras perform poorly over the wireless connection and the NVR is very slow, even though its connected via a 1Gbps Ethernet port. The cameras and NVR drop packets during ping tests and the latency is in the 100s of ms (400-900ms), which isnt great. I dont know if poor hardware, firmware, or both are to blame. Ill probably go with a more reliable brand next time, even if that means spending a little more. My time is valuable and Ive spent enough of it already trying to figure out their poorly designed camera firmware by reading their vague user manuals. Update: I can connect to the cameras through the NVR, which is an acceptable workaround. Due to the cameras poor wireless performance, Ive had to reduce the frame rate to 10, change CBR to VBR, and record on the substream channel (SD quality), leaving the main channel (720p) to take snapshots only. These cameras simply cannot stream 720p video at 30 FPS over an 802.11ac fast wireless network. Are the cameras even 802.11g?

App rarely works!

This app is complicated to setup and rarely worked. After the latest update, it doesnt work. I have deleted it and use IP Cam Viewer Pro.

May have to return

The camera itself is cute and easy to set up. (I.e. Cables, installing app, etc.) I bought this specifically to use via wifi/iPhone. After a night of it saying it couldnt connect, it finally connected this morning only to tell me my user/pass is incorrect when hitting the "live stream" button. What?! I just connected (finally) for the first time and now this crap. So I deleted the app and reinstalled and started over BUT same exact problem. Im thinking it might be best to just pack this up and send it back to avoid further frustration. I just wanted a camera that would perform as claimed.

GREAT APP AWESOME CAMERAS

I have been using this app for almost 4 months now on my iPhone 6 I now have two 1080P cameras and one 720P camera the PTZ cameras have awesome picture quality everything has been working great I check on my property and pets several times a day and it connects every time and it send me push notifications when it detects motion. after using the app a couple times it got pretty easy to use it does have a couple of bugs but tech support said they are working on them they have had a couple of updates and added some new features which is good oh by the way they offer free (average) tech support which is a added bonus cant wait for the next update!! I think if Amcrest keeps working on it they could be one of the best and competitive app and home surveillance company out there

App does not setup camera

Im sending it back. How can you release such a piece of garbage?

No real problems

Everything that needs to work- works. Im having some issues with exporting photos/vids to Dropbox but the camera function and remote viewing work perfectly. I use it to speak to my kids and monitor them from a floor and many rooms away. The two-way talk feature is super helpful for late night calming of children without having to trek across the house and up and down stairs. A great way to leverage technology to be I more place than one around the house - all from the convenience of your home.

Edit Users

After the initial setup, the app has been pretty good. There are definitely some needed improvements. One of which is the ability to add/edit users for people who dont have an additional monitor/laptop.

I cant explain how frustrated I am right now.

Disappointed

I had to return four cameras before I finally got ONE that worked. Now, the latest update does not allow you to use the playback function. Ultimately, the camera works great but is useless in regards to NOT capturing video for evidence.
